The Gender & Sexual minority community in karnataka welcome the move taken by  Ms Tara Anuradha, Hon’ble Member of Karnataka Legislative Council who has raised the issues of Transgenders before the Council on 6th February 2015. She has brought up the burning issues of family non acceptance, identity, education, employment, police harassment, begging, sex work, non access to public toilet, transportation, supreme court nalsa judgement, implementation of transgender policy, Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission Report, transgender welfare board etc. we also appreciate Congress,JDS, BJP & other political parties for supporting the cause.

On the 13th of February 2015 the Karnataka State Legislative Council is discussing in detail before the floor on Transgender issues and we demand all political parties to have indepth discussion of our community

Gender Minorities include (Hijra, Kothi, Jogappa, Female to Male, Male to Female, Intersex).

Our demands: 

We urge the government of karnataka to form welfare board for transgender

We urge allocation of budget for the welfare of transgender communities

Implementation of nalsa judgement transgender policy

We urge the karnataka legislative assembly and karnataka legislative council to repeal section 36a of the karnataka police act

We urge the government of karnataka to issue an immediate circular to the police and other arms of the state to stop any harassment/illegal arrests of sexual minorities in the state

We demand that welfare measures for transgender persons are implemented immediately

We urge the karnataka legislative assembly and karnataka legislative council to amend ipc 377 to exclude consensual sex between adults from its purview
