Origin:
Having suffered exclusion and disrespect from a young age in my family and in my workplaces, I was very keen to lead and create a platform for sexual minority members to experience recognition, acceptance and dignity. It was also a matter of importance for me to demonstrate that a committed community leader can professionally lead an organization and innovate ways to bring about sustained positive change.
Jeeva was registered on 5th November 2012 as a Trust its purpose and focus was on addressing issues around mental health, livelihood and community media for working class sexual minorities in Karnataka.
